• About Provo Canyon School

    Offers Residential Treatment for Youth

Established in 1971, Provo Canyon School treats pre-adolescent and adolescent boys and girls with emotional and behavioral challenges. To meet the needs of all its students, the school provides a supportive environment and a full-range of academic, mental health, and recreational therapy options. Provo Canyon School maintains multiple campuses and offers three different programs based on age and gender.

The school’s adolescent boy’s program, for boys ages 13 to 18, offers a variety of services to address problems such as substance abuse, attention-deficit/hyperactivity, and oppositional defiant disorders. In concert with a fully accredited academic program, boys engage in multiple therapies to improve social skills and address underlying mental health problems.

Like the adolescent boy’s program, the adolescent girl’s program employs a staff of psychiatrists, teachers, and nurses to oversee the girls’ academic, social, and behavioral health. The program serves girls ages 13 to 18 who struggle with a host of issues, including anxiety and personality disorders, reactive attachment disorders, and more.

For children ages eight to 13, the Provo Canyon School uses modalities such as sand-tray therapy and biofeedback to help students regulate their behavior and overcome social and learning problems.
